Accio Cheese

When life plain sucks
And it’s all down the tube
Accio cheese

When the decisions pile up
But you don’t have a clue
Accio cheese

When the days are too full
And you need less to do
Accio cheese

It won’t solve your life
But when you need a moment just you
Accio cheese

Stop

Stop.
Stop scrolling.
Just stop.
Take the deepest breath
You’ve taken all day”
And let it out slow
Picture the breath floating away
Think of something little you enjoy
Scooch your plans over, make space
Read a chapter, do some stretches
Eat some cheese, play a game
Think of something little you enjoy
Scooch your plans over, make space

B is For Cheese

B is for baby swiss and baby brie
Balaton, Balfour, and Baladi

Did you know there’s a cheese called “Bad Axe?”
Pardon me, but I think that’s “Bad As*”

B is for Beemster and Blue
It’s for Bianco, Beaumont, and Bijou

It’s clear, there’s no doubt for me
B is definitely for Cheese

Spread Cheese Vibes

What are cheese vibes?
They’re mellow
Maybe orange
Or an orangish yellow

They’re happy, relaxed
Easy breezy
They’re the perfect combo
Of sweet, salty, and cheesy

Cheese vibes say
”It’s all gonna be fine”
Cheese vibes say
”Peace here I will find”

Spread cheese vibes
It can’t hurt
But if they elude you
I recommend a yurt

(A yurt filled with cheese and no people – if you can’t find cheesy vibes with alone time in a yurt filled with cheese I got nothing)

Complex Fractions

When did it become so important
For every child to do complex fractions?

Most adults I know whip out their phone
For addition and subtraction

What if those adults had that time back
Not just the time learning basic math

But the time spend learning everything
Then don’t use – or even half

I wonder at what they would have done
I bet stuff adults would call “lazy”

Swinging for a whole day eating string cheese
Playing the same video game for a week

The adults would say it was a horrible waste
The other adults would agree

Then they’d pull out their phone calculator to add up
All that valuable time gone to waste

They’ll never know what they’d have gained from
their time, and neither will their children get a taste

Let’s Be Content

I have a box
And when it’s full,
I’m content

I can’t be happy in every moment,
But I can be content in most

Because that box –
It’s mostly in my control

I can make it small
So it’s easily full

I can practice
Needing less
To feel content

And I can know myself
So when the box
Is short of full

I know just the things
To top it off

A moment alone
A walk
A coffee
A book
A bath

Cheddar chips with sour cream
Watch Shawn & Gus solve a crime
Write a cheese poem

I can’t be happy in every moment
But I can be content in most
