Come With Me

Come on
We’re going now
Forget the list today
Put it down

I brought you this
Backpack it’s light
Put it on, don’t look back
It’s alright

Out the door
And for a short drive
We get out and step
Under a clear blue sky

We walk up a gentle slope
And up some more
Focus on the sound of feet
As they hit the forrest floor

Birds are somewhere
Flying, singing
The trees are alive
Ahead water is streaming

Your head starts to clear
Burdened less, light
And we step into a clearing
Green, bright

We find a spot in the center
And spread a big quilt
We sit and admire
What God built

Take off that small pack
And pull out your favorite drink
And your favorite kind of crackers
Your favorite fruit, your favorite cheese

The breeze moves warm
Against your cheek
It smells like flowers
And a freshwater stream

Let’s stay here awhile, if only in dream
